1 Abuse Definitions

1.1 — Resource Abuse

Resource abuse is any activity, intentional or unintentional, that consumes significant system resources and so harms other customers or our equipment.

1.2 — Unsolicited Communications

Unsolicited communications are emails or other messages sent to recipients who have not agreed to receive them.

Knowingly permitting or initiating unsolicited communications is grounds for immediate termination and a permanent ban from all future services.

1.3 — Malicious Content

Malicious content is any script, code or file that performs harmful actions against users or is used in bulk operations. Content that breaks the laws of the country where the service is hosted is also prohibited.

Knowingly permitting or hosting malicious content is grounds for immediate termination and a permanent ban from all future services.

2 Remedial Action

2.1 — Intentional or Malicious Abuse

Intentional or malicious abuse means actions knowingly carried out by a customer, or by someone the customer has authorized, that fall within the definitions above.

In these cases every service on the customer's account is terminated immediately and without compensation, and the customer is permanently barred from future services.

Exception: where a court order requires us to preserve evidence for law enforcement, we will act as the order requires.

2.2 — Order of Action During an Abuse Case

  1. The offending service is taken offline and suspended.
  2. Our support team opens a ticket describing the violation and the steps needed to fix it.
  3. Once you acknowledge the issue, the service is reactivated with a 24-hour window to correct it.

If an abuse case is not addressed, the service stays suspended and, in extreme cases, is terminated.
